National Caucus and Center on Black Aging, Inc.
Location: Washington, DC
Industry: Aging services and advocacy
EXPANDING ITS REACH: As the oldest and largest minority aging organization, National Caucus and Center on Black Aging (NCBA) continues to expand its reach to low-income seniors. In 2012, the nonprofit became known as a local leader in affordable housing after completing a $30 million renovation of a 30-plus-year-old, 174-unit senior housing property. Now other affordable housing owners seek out NCBA when they need a major developer. NCBA also partners with several organizations to disseminate information about Alzheimer’s, financial literacy, computer education and more to seniors.
